Mainstream media avoiding any mention of link between psychiatric drugs and violent shootings

by: J. D. Heyes

Dec.24, 2012

Whether it's because most members of the mainstream media are simply oblivious to the effects of psychotropic drugs, whether it's a biased political agenda, laziness or a combination of all of those elements, you will be hard-pressed to find many journalists who dare to link the dangers of these medications to the growing number of horrific mass murders that have occurred with alarming frequency in recent years.

The most recent of these involved 20-year-old Adam Lanza, who killed his mother before traveling to the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., earlier this month to murder 20 Kindergarten children and six adults.

In the days following the shooting, initial exclusive reports from the New York Daily News said that Lanza went on his rampage when he learned he was about to be committed to a psychiatric institution by his mother. According to the report, a "bar pal" who did not want to be named told the paper Nancy Lanza told him her son was "burning himself" and that she feared she was "losing him."

The disappearing details

What that initial report also said, according to InfoWars.com, was that Adam Lanza was on a psychotropic drug.

"Adam's uncle....said he was taking an anti-psychotic drug called Fanapt," New York Magazine said in a follow-up report, quoting the initial New York Daily News story.

But then, InfoWars.com noted, that little factoid disappeared from the online versions of those initial reports.

"It's almost certain that the original version of the article did mention this before being amended, and that the NY Mag piece was based on the original NY Daily News piece," InfoWars.com reported.

Why would mainstream newspapers and magazines want to hide the fact that Lanza - and a host of previous mass murderers - were taking psychotropic drugs that almost certainly contributed to their deadly behavior?

The obvious answer is that blaming the drug takes away from their anti-gun agenda.

But the fact that these tragedies are being committed by psychiatric basket cases on drugs has not escaped the attention of everyone.

Mind-Control Flicker Effect - read UP! This is how it's done, people

Mind control achieved through the “information flicker effect”

by Jon Rappoport
Dec 19, 2012
nomorefakenews.com

No, I’m not talking about the flicker of the television picture. I’m talking about an on-off switch that controls information conveyed to the television audience.

The Sandy Hook school murders provide an example.

First of all, elite media coverage of this tragedy has one goal: to provide an expanding narrative of what happened. It’s a story. It has a plot.

In order to tell the story, there has to be a source of information. The top-flight television anchors are getting their information from…where?

Their junior reporters? Not really. Ultimately, the information is coming from the police, and secondarily from local officials.

In other words, very little actual journalism is happening. The media anchors are absorbing, arranging, and broadcasting details given to them by the police investigators.

The anchors are PR people for the cops.

This has nothing to do with journalism. Nothing.

The law-enforcement agencies investigating the Sandy Hook shootings on the scene, in real time, were following up on leads? We don’t what leads they were following and what leads they were discarding. We don’t know what mistakes they were making. We don’t know what evidence they were overlooking or intentionally ignoring. We don’t know whether there were any corrupt cops who were slanting evidence.

The police were periodically giving out information to the media. The anchors were relaying this information to the audience.

So when the police privately tell reporters, “We chased a suspect into the woods above the school,” that becomes a television fact. Until it isn’t a fact any longer.

The police, for whatever reason, decide to drop the whole “suspect in the woods” angle. Why? No idea.

Therefore, the media anchors no longer mention it.

Instead the police are focused on Adam Lanza, who is found dead in the school. So are the television anchors, who no longer refer to the suspect in the woods.

That old thread is gone down the memory hole.

What does this do to the audience who has been following the narrative on television? It sets up a flicker effect. An hour ago, it was suspect in the woods. Now, that bit of data is gone. On-off switch. It was on, now it’s off.

This is a break in logic. It makes no sense.

Which is the whole point.

The viewer thinks: “Let’s see. There was a suspect in the woods. The cops were chasing him. Now he doesn’t exist. We don’t know his name. We don’t know why he’s off the radar. We don’t know whether he was arrested. We don’t know if he was questioned. Okay, I guess I’ll have to forget all about him. I’ll just track what the anchor is telling me. He’s telling the story. I have to follow his story.”

This was only one flicker. Others occur. The father of Adam’s brother was found dead. No, that’s gone now. The mother of Adam was found dead. Okay. Adam killed all these children with two pistols. No, that’s gone now. He used a rifle. It was a Bushmaster. No, it was a Sig Sauer. One weapon was found in the trunk of a car. No, three weapons.

At each succeeding point, a fact previously reported is jettisoned and forgotten, to be replaced with a new fact. The television viewer has to forget, along with the television anchor. The viewer wants to follow the developing narrative, so he has to forget. He has no choice if he wants to “stay in the loop.”

But this flicker effect does something to the viewer’s mind. His mind is no longer sharp. It’s not generating questions. Logic has been offloaded. Obvious questions and doubts are shelved.

“How could they think it was the dead father in New Jersey when it was actually the dead mother in Connecticut?”

“Why did they say he used two handguns when it was a rifle?”

“Or was it really a rifle?”

“I heard a boy on camera say there was another man the cops caught and they had him proned out on the ground in front of the school. What happened to him? Where did he go? Why isn’t the anchor keeping track of him?”

All these obvious and reasonable questions have to be scratched and forgotten, because the television story is moving into different territory, and the viewer wants to follow the story.

This constant flicker effect eventually produces, in the television viewer…passivity.

He surrenders to the ongoing narrative. Surrenders.

This is mind control.

The television anchor doesn’t have a problem. His job is to move seamlessly, through an ever-increasing series of contradictions and discarded details, to keep the narrative going, to keep it credible.

He knows how to do that. That’s why he is the anchor.

He can make it seem as if the story is a growing discovery of what really happened, even though his narrative is littered with abandoned clues and dead-ends and senseless non-sequiturs.

And the viewer pays the price.

Mired in passive acceptance of whatever the anchor is telling him, the viewer assumes his own grasp on logic and basic judgment is flawed.

Now, understand that this viewer has been watching television news for years. He’s watched many of these breaking events. The cumulative effect is devastating.

The possibility, for example, that Adam Lanza wasn’t the shooter, but was the patsy, is as remote to the viewer as a circus of ants doing Shakespeare on Mars.

The possibility that the cops hid evidence and were ordered to release other suspects is unthinkable.
Considering that there appears to be not one angry outraged parent in Newtown (because the network producers wouldn’t permit such a parent to be interviewed on camera) never occurs to the viewer.

Wondering why the doctor of Adam Lanza hasn’t been found and quizzed about the drugs he prescribed isn’t in the mind of the viewer.

The information flicker effect is powerful. It sweeps away independent thought and measured contemplation. It certainly rules out the possibility of imagining the murders in an alternative narrative.

Because there is only one narrative. It is delivered by Brian Williams and Scott Pelley and Diane Sawyer.
Interesting how they never disagree.

Never, in one of these horrendous events do the three kings and queens of television news end up with different versions of what happened.

What are the odds of that, if the three people are rational and inquisitive? (CONTINUE READING)

6 B.S. Myths You Probably Believe About America's 'Enemies'

Spend five minutes listening to politicians and pundits talk about countries like Iran and North Korea, and you walk away thinking the world is a scary place. But politicians have agendas, and pundits want viewers. They aren't always the most reliable sources, but they're usually the loudest, which is why you probably believe that ...

2-minute video: FOX edits, fakes applause for John Bolton pro-war statement

Carl Herman
Washington’s Blog
February 26, 2012

The 2-minute video is a public meeting of former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton responding to a US war veteran’s question. The video shows that FOX then edits-out the audience response to replace it with applause from a different person’s question. The proof is that the applause-segment shows a different person walking away from the microphone than the person who asked the question. The veteran testified that the audience booed Mr. Bolton’s answer.

This is not just FOX, but all of the six mega-media US corporations who lie by commission and omission as war propagandists.

I previously documented FOX “reporting”CBSABC, and CNN war propaganda by picking a day to look at their “news” and simply showing what they say. Importantly, one could do this every single day with similar examples of what I wrote on CNN’s published work of “credible” journalism:
When we now know that all claims for war with Iraq were known lies as they were told(and verbally explained here), and CNN provides similar innuendo for war by an unsourced alleged report with concerns of what might occur in the future allegedly stated by an unnamed US source reporting on an unnamed foreign source, this is propaganda and not news.
You might need to read the above twice to feel the impact of this choice of communication from CNN, then verify the source to see this is exactly what they reported.

Facebook IS Mass Surveillance: Richard Stallman

rt.com
02 December, 2011

The father of free software philosophy spoke to RT on evil developers, spying social networks, the almost-legitimacy of Anonymous hacks and the condition under which he would take a proprietary program and a million dollars.

Stallman is the man behind the concept that every computer program must be free for users to study and modify as they want. This is the only way to ensure that by using the software users do not compromise their human rights, he says.

Free software literally gives you freedom in the area of computing. It means that you can control your computing. It means that the users individually and collectively have control over their computing. And in particular it means they can protect themselves from the malicious features that are likely to be in proprietary software,” he told RT. (CONTINUE READING)

George Orwell’s guide to the news

Adrian Salbuchi
rt.com
29 November, 2011

The Western mainstream media falsifies the news resorting to euphemisms, half-truths and lies in the best (worst) style of George Orwell’s novel 1984. We all live in the unreal world of “Newspeak” used by the Global Power Elite to control our minds.

Man gets confused when things that happen around him and to him, or which are done in his name, cannot be properly grasped, understood or made sense of. Normally, such confusion leads to inaction. If you’re lost at night in the middle of a forest but you can still see the stars, then a bit of astronomical knowledge will at least quickly tell you which way is north. But if it’s cloudy or you’re ignorant of the constellations in starry heaven, then you might as well light up a fire and do nothing until dawn…. You’re Lost!

Today, mainstream media coverage uses programmed distortion, confusion, even outright lying when its Money Power masters order it to support the “official story” on any major political, economic or financial process. When looked at closely, however, the “official story” of things can be seen to be inaccurate, misleading, often hardly believable if not downright stupid.

Examples of this: Iraq’s inexistent WMD’s leading to the invasion and destruction of that country; global mega-banker bail-outs with taxpayer money; irrational US diplomatic, military, financial and ideological alignment to Israeli objectives; “we-killed-Osama-Bin-Laden-and-dumped-his-body-into-the-sea”; and the wide array of “whodunits” surrounding 9/11 in New York and Washington, 7/7 in London, the AMIA/Israeli Embassy attacks in Buenos Aires in 1992/1994, and – of course – that all time favorite: who shot JFK…?
These are but a few of the paradigmatic cases that have at least served to trigger millions of people to wake up and think with their own minds instead of the mainstream media’s! But unfortunately the vast majority of such cases are not so clear-cut. The vast majority of Newspeak lies are like knots, difficult to untie as they carry built-in complexity resembling Gordian Knots. And, as with all Gordian Knots, you need to cut right through them, and this requires swift and precise action plus a good measure of intellectual courage.

To give an example of what we say, let’s take a quick look at how a “Newspeak” operation works. It requires sequential planning, it requires time, it requires proper logistics, it requires “credible” spokespeople in public and private sectors, it requires choosing the right words and images at the right time and in the right circumstances.

So, let’s say the Global Power Elite – working through the governments of the US, UK, EU into which they are deeply embedded, and joint-venturing with a wide array of media outlets, defense companies, oil companies, security and construction companies, and powerful lobbies – decide that they wish to overrun and destroy a specific country… Libya, for example…

How do they ensure that “the international community” will just quietly look on (except for the still relatively small minority of voices that are increasingly raising hell against them)?

Ron Paul Gets 89 Seconds To Speak In CBS Debate

Ron Paul Silenced by CBS

Marc Fortier
Exeter
November 13, 2011

Both Ron Paul and Michele Bachmann are crying foul after what they said were unfair efforts to limit their air time during CBS’ Republican presidential debate on Saturday night.
In an email sent out after the debate entitled “What a Joke,” the Paul campaign ripped CBS for allowing the Texas Congressman only a minute and a half of air time in the 90 minute debate.
“It literally made me sick watching the mainstream media once again silence the one sane voice in this election,” said Campaign Manager John Tate. “The one dissenter to a decade of unchecked war. The one candidate who stands for true defense and actual constitutional government. Ron Paul was silenced, in perhaps the most important debate of the cycle.”

Corporate Media Switches Tactics, Attacks Ron Paul

Strategy of completely ignoring Congressman was a miserable failure

Ron Paul
The establishment effort to keep Presidential candidate Ron Paul out of the public conscience has failed and desperation tactics have set in.
Politico has taken it upon itself to dredge up an old and thoroughly debunked story in an attempted attack on the Congressman’s character.
“…there are reasons why Paul, and his fan base, might be grateful for the minimalist coverage that he’s received,” writes Maggie Haberman.
“… a more thorough vetting of the kind that mainstream candidates generally receive would invariably lead to some of the newsletters that bore his name (if not his byline or direct authorship) decades earlier.”
Haberman links to a three year old New Republic report which suggests that Ron Paul was responsible for racist and bigoted newsletters that were written in his name in the 1990s.
This is the exact same desperate tactic that was employed when Paul ran for president in 2008.
  • A d v e r t i s e m e n t
Amongst the ludicrous smears directed toward Paul at the time by The New Republic was the claim that Paul had referred to Martin Luther King as a “gay pedophile”.
In reality Paul has noted King as one of his heroes on many occasions. Indeed, the only time that the Congressman has ever voted for something that is not explicitly authorized in the Constitution, it was for America to recognize Martin Luther King day as a public holiday.
“Once again, the establishment is trying to flog a lame, tired 20 year old story that has been explained ad naseum in campaign after campaign.” writes Paul’s campaign adviser Jesse Benton.
“These items were not written by Dr. Paul and they are anathema to belief in human liberty.” Benton added.
Similar tactics were employed by the establishment last year, in a last ditch effort to reverse Rand Paul’s exponential popularity surge. It failed miserably as Congressman Ron Paul’s son comfortably won his Kentucky Senate seat.
The fact that the media has dredged up this rotting corpse of a non-story AGAIN in an attempt to smear Paul indicates complete desperation and only serves to highlight that unlike most of his political opponents, Ron Paul’s record and his character remain clean as a whistle.
The Congressman appeared on Fox News yesterday to discuss the media attempts to derail his campaign. Paul also conducted a longer sit down interview on the subject with KTRK-TV in Houston. Watch both these interviews below.
